Everything guests ask before they board

Search the archive or browse by theme — from dress codes and seasickness to buy-in rules and weather calls. If the answer isn't here, the concierge line is open every day.

The essentials

The twelve questions that cover eighty percent of every briefing call.

Smart-casual works for most evenings — think collared shirts and deck-friendly shoes. Themed nights publish a dress code on your boarding pass, and high-roller salons lean cocktail. Leave the stilettos ashore; the promenade deck rewards flat soles.
You'll be in the majority on most corporate nights. Every sailing opens with a twenty-minute learn-to-play session, dealers explain rulings as they happen, and fun-money formats mean a bad read costs nothing but pride.
No cash is wagered. Guests play with tournament chips for trophies, donated prizes and status — this keeps every event compliant with Queensland's Charitable and Non-Profit Gaming framework and the equivalent rules interstate.
Our routes favour sheltered waters — the Brisbane River, Moreton Bay and harbour circuits — and the ships are stabilised. Ginger tablets are at every bar; if you'd like a seat mid-ship where motion is smallest, tell your producer at booking.
Yes — the galley handles coeliac, vegan, halal and allergy-specific menus with a week's notice. Requirements are collected through the digital RSVP so nothing is lost between your guests and the kitchen.
Brisbane departures board at the International Cruise Terminal in Pinkenba. Doors open 45 minutes before sailing; bring photo ID and your boarding pass (digital or print). Parking sits at the terminal gate, and coaches can be arranged through us.
The captain and our fleet liaison watch BOM marine forecasts from 72 hours out. If a sailing can't run comfortably, you choose between a rescheduled date or an inside-deck format — both at zero penalty, per your contract.
Private family celebrations welcome younger guests — we staff a supervised kids' lounge with activities while the adults play. Public tournament evenings are 18+ for the gaming floor; family dining decks remain open to all.
Absolutely — most corporate nights supply their own silverware, and we'll engrave it if you send it early. Our in-house option is a compass-mounted crystal trophy that has ended more than one office rivalry.
Standard evening charters dock between 23:30 and 00:30. Overnight and multi-day itineraries let the cards run later — the bar closes only when the last table does.
Weather intelligence

How we read the sea before you sail

Swell height, wind direction, rain windows — our routing desk models every departure against BOM marine data and the captain's own log of the bay.

T-72h

Forecast lock

Three days out we commit to a course — bay circuit, river run or offshore leg — based on the marine outlook.

T-24h

Comfort call

If wind over 25 knots or swell over two metres is expected, deck programming moves inside — or the date moves, free.

Sailing day

Captain's authority

The master has final say on every route. Their call is never argued with — it's why our record stays clean.

Staying connected

Internet that survives the horizon

Low-orbit satellite keeps the card room — and your stream — online offshore. Ship Wi-Fi covers messaging and social; the production network carries hole-card cameras and the private broadcast.

Words you'll hear at the table

The bubble

The last place before the prizes. Burst it and the room exhales together.

Blinds

Forced bets that keep the game moving. Ours rise on a published clock.

The river

The fifth and final card. Aptly named, we think, given the venue.

Bounty

A prize on a specific player's head. Knock them out, collect it.

Freezeout

One entry, one stack. When the chips are gone, so are you.

Rebuy

A second stack during the early levels, where the format allows it.

The rail

Spectators behind the tables — the loudest voices at every final.

Satellite

A small qualifier that wins a seat at a bigger table.

Safety, quickly

The essentials in one grid

Trained crew

Evacuation marshals on every deck, every sailing.

Medical

Ship's clinic, AEDs, paramedic on large manifests.

Muster drill

A five-minute briefing before departure — painless, mandatory.

Manifest

Every guest accounted for, boarding to disembarkation.

Logistics & policies

A last few specifics that fit nowhere else — parking, accessibility and the bar rules.

Browse upcoming evenings
Yes — secure parking at Pinkenba sits a short walk from the gangway. We include a map and gate codes with your boarding pass; coach transfers from CBD hotels can be added for groups over forty.
All three vessels have lift access to the main card-room decks and accessible amenities. Tell your producer about mobility requirements at booking and we'll map the evening around the most comfortable route.
The bar runs to licensed-service rules — our RSA-trained staff manage pace, and the tournament director can pause a table rather than a person. Nobody is ever made to feel it.
One free reschedule inside fourteen days' notice, subject to fleet availability. Inside that window we apply the schedule on the refunds page — the weather clause always overrides, in your favour.
