The fine print, honestly

Terms of Service

The terms that govern every booking, ticket and evening aboard our vessels. We've kept them readable — a contract both parties should actually understand.

Last updated: 1 February 2025

1. The agreement

These terms apply to all bookings, tickets and event services provided by Southern Seas Events Pty Ltd. Placing a deposit or purchasing a ticket constitutes acceptance.

2. Booking and payment

Private events are held by a 30% deposit on the quoted total; the balance falls due fourteen days before sailing. Public-event tickets are payable in full at purchase. Quotes are valid for 14 days and honoured in writing.

3. Cancellations by you

See the Refund Policy for the full schedule. In short: more than 60 days out, full refund less a holding fee; inside 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable; inside 14 days, payment is due in full though rebooking credit may apply.

4. Cancellations by us

Weather, mechanical issues or insufficient public-event numbers may force a reschedule — in which case you receive full credit valid twelve months, or a refund on request. Maritime safety decisions rest with the vessel's master and are final.

5. Gaming conduct

Our events operate under applicable state charitable-gaming and promotional-event frameworks. No unlawful real-money wagering is conducted. Tournament structures, prize pools and compliance documentation are published per event. We may refuse participation to anyone behaving abusively toward staff or guests.

6. Boarding requirements

Photo ID is required for every guest. The master may refuse boarding to intoxicated or disruptive persons. Latecomers forfeit their place if the gangway has closed.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for your booking. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you hold under Australian Consumer Law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
